Fall Reset
If you’re like me, you love setting goals, you are on the go 24/7, and you LOVE a to-do list!!! I have an EXTREMELY hard time resting or sitting still. I have really been trying to get better at that! I constantly feel that I have things to do, but this fall, I am telling myself that I will be better at resting! Where we live, once the time change hits, it is dark at 5pm. The only good thing out of that for someone like me who loves the sunshine, is that it forces me to slow down. Here are some things I am going to do this fall to help me slow down, and still feel productive!!
Clean Windows - I don’t know about y’all but dirty windows drive me CRAZY and after the summer rain, and sprinkler residue, our windows need a good cleaning!!! This will help me be able to sit down in the evening and have peace of mind when looking at my windows! LOL.
Earlier Dinners - In the summer, we are not great about eating early. We like to hit the club after work on weekdays and either go to the pool or get a quick 9 in. With it getting darker earlier, this allows us to have an earlier dinner and have more time to rest and enjoy our evening.
Organizing Holiday Decor - When getting out my fall & Halloween decor, I made sure all of my tubbs were in order and ready for the next big holiday, CHRISTMAS!!! (I cannot believe it’s already getting close that time of year) This will help me have an easy transition and it will be easy for me to put away fall and get out Christmas things.
Getting up Earlier - With it getting darker earlier, and feeling like the day is shorter, I am getting up earlier! This helps me get so much more done during the day and I feel so much more motivated!
Planning - Fall is a fun-filled, jam-packed time of year!!! I know for me personally, there are so many things I want to do! I want to go to the pumpkin patch, farmers market, get fall family portraits done, attend football games, and much more!! Planning in advance helps to make sure you have time to get everything done!! And DON’T forget to plan those days where you have nothing to do and can just take it easy!!!
Phone Breaks - This is a huge struggle of mine… I am trying to be more intentional about not being on my phone as much! Make no phone rules! No phones during meals, quality time, or date nights!
Weekly Meal Planning - I LOVE when I know what I have planned for dinner! Making weekly menus and being prepared allows more time for relaxation. I have recently just started using Kroger Clicklist, (yes, I cannot believe I am just now trying it either) and it has made my life so much easier, not too mention it is a HUGE money saver. It keeps my cortisol levels lower by not having to go into the grocery and weaving in and out of each isle on a Sunday afternoon!!! ;)
Wardrobe Transition - Taking clothes out of my closet that I know I won’t be wearing during fall and winter makes me feel decluttered! I want a fresh space to walk into and have only options that I know can be worn this time of year. It makes every day outfit planning so much easier!
Start Planning Your Holiday Budget - As I mentioned, we are getting closer to Christmas!!! Luke and I like to start putting money away just for Christmas. We have a budget we like to stick to and planning early helps you not feel as stressed during the holiday season!
Make Your Home Cozy - As we all love to do, get out all your favorite fall and Halloween decor, comfy blankets, and delicious candles!!! Bake all the goods and watch all the movies! Take in every day of this season and sit back and enjoy!
Happy Fall Friends!
