Holiday Home Tour 2024

In year’s past, I have always went with bright colors, shiny golds, and more modern Christmas decor. This year I wanted a more traditional feel (my version of traditional of course ;)). As my decor taste evolves, I keep finding myself wanting to go more and more timeless, but with my maximalist touch.

I wanted to add in the old school tartan plaid, all the Santa’s, nutcrackers, and red! With all the colors I have in my home, I was a little worried about how this scheme would look. I kept in some deep blues and my chinoiserie ornaments, obviously! I was very happy with the outcome!!!

For the outside of our home, Luke hangs our roof lights(my favorite), I do wreaths on every window with the timeless red bow. I like to keep the outside as classic as possible. Our home is red brick with black accents and shutters so this look goes great with our home design. I just used a plain greenery wreath for our front door, added some ornaments, and a huge bow. I also always have a garden flag and this year I went with a tartan plaid with an old school Santa. You can find this flag in my Amazon Storefront under my, “Classic Christmas” Idea List.

For arrangements, I fill my black planters that we use year round. I add some holly, magnolia, fur, and some hydrangeas that I spray paint gold. I LOVE these arrangements. See how I make those here below!

My biggest piece of advice when it comes to decorating anything, is just go with what you like! When thinking of my Christmas decor, I didn’t quite know how it was going to look when I put my new items and items from last year together. I just went for it and it turned out perfectly. I would say it is a great mix of my “fun” style mixed with “traditional”.

My secret to a good tree is adding as much to it as you possibly can!! All the ribbon, sticks, ornaments, etc.! The more the merrier! I have always loved bows, so the bow trend is one of my faves. I added a Target bow as my topper and made smaller bows out of my ribbon for all over the tree. I found a lot of the glass blown ornaments from antique stores and then Michaels & Hobby Lobby had some very cute dupes this year.

I added fun pillows, ribbons, and small Christmas Trees all over the living room and kitchen, garland on my entry way and entertainment center, and of course it’s not Christmas without a gorgeous nativity scene.

I am obsessed with my present wrapping this year!!! I found the most perfect paper prints at TJ Maxx and added tulle to make my bows. I love a good present tag, so this year I actually made mine off Canva. I am obsessed with a watercolor look. I can’t wait to show y’all my Christmas cards which have a similar look!

My husband is a HUGE NFL Saints fan so our office tree is our “Saints” tree. I love this tree because it is so much fun and not something I would typically do! In our guest bedroom and bathroom I have allll the pink. In our master bedroom, we have our special ornament tree! I LOVE this tree. We have all the sentimental ornaments that we have collected from places we have visited or ornaments that have been gifted to us!

I hope you enjoy seeing all the holiday decor! Christmas makes me so happy and I love seeing everyone’s lights & trees! I will be sharing more so soon!
