XOXO… Valentines is coming!!
I LOVE, love!!! I think Valentine’s day is so much fun whether you are celebrating with your husband, family, boyfriend, or your galentines!!!
Beyond the flowers and chocolates, why not add some charm to your home with festive decor? Whether you’re decorating for a special someone, friends, or just yourself, a few touches can transform any space into a warm, inviting environment filled with love. Here are some things I do to make sure the love is felt in my home:
1. Heartfelt Colors, duh!
The colors of Valentine’s Day—red, pink, white, and gold—are classic choices that will set the tone for the season. You don’t have to go overboard, but integrating these hues into your space can make a world of difference.
Throw Pillows & Blankets: Cozy up your couch with a mix of red, pink, or heart-shaped pillows. Add a soft throw blanket for extra warmth. As most of you may know by now, I have a HUGE pillow addiction!
2. DIY Crafty Projects: Personalized Touches
Get creative with some DIY decor projects that can add a personal flair to your space.
Bows, Bows, & More Bows: I am always down for the bows!! I added little ribbons to my candlesticks to make cute little bows. I am also thinking about adding a bow garland to my entertainment center…
Monograms & Embroidered Hearts: I ordered a white wreath sash and used my embroidery machine to add our initials and a cute red heart! I added some ribbon to tie in with the sash and I love how it turned out.
3. Candles: Set the Mood
Candles are so fun for me! I love switching them out depending on the season! I may or may not have a whole cabinet dedicated to my candles…
Scented Candles: I always try to match the scent to the holiday! I have floral scents out now!
Heart-Shaped Candles: Because why not? I found the cutest heart shape candle in the Target dollar section!
4. Floral Arrangements: A Symbol of Love
Flowers are the ultimate Valentine’s Day decoration, whether real or faux.
Bouquets: I have a fresh floral bouquet on my dining room table but a faux centerpiece on my entryway table!
5. Unique and Fun Accents
Add some playful touches to your decor that show off your personality and make the space more lively.
Coasters & Tea Towels: More Target Dollar Section finds!!!
Sweet Treats as Decor: I will ALWAYS have a supply of sweet treats.. my total weakness!!!
6. Setting the Perfect Valentine’s Day Table
If you're hosting a special dinner, your table is the centerpiece of your Valentine's decor.
Tablecloths: This year I wanted to do something funky!!! I am hosting a Galentines party soon and I wanted to make it girly and fun! I found this inspo on Pinterest and wanted to put my own spin on it! I used a plain pink table cloth and then I took a roll of brown shipping paper and painted X’s and O’s all over it! I think it turned out to be the cutest table runner.
Chic Place Settings: I used jute placemats and put red chargers down to play off the red writing on the runner.
Candles & Florals: As I mentioned earlier, I added a fresh floral bouquet in my antique copper vase. I also used pink and red candle sticks with cute, dainty bows!
It’s all about feeling the love!!! No better way to do that than LOVING your space!
