Fall Girls Night In
Since we have bought our house I have dreamed of doing all the hosting!!! I love having people over and I LOVE celebrating all the seasons, especially fall! I wanted to have a fun little girls night for the girls in my bible study, and we had the best time with this fun and easy craft!
I saw the idea above on Pinterest and thought it would be fun and cost friendly! I went to Walmart and bought the door mats, they were about $7 a piece, the paint, which was about 50 cents a bottle, and some paint brushes. I got a variety of paint brushes because I wasn’t sure what kind would work best on the texture, but honestly, they all worked just fine! You may just need to re-apply the paint a couple of times.
I printed out a doormat inspo guide that gave us all something to go off of. I also told the girls that they could obviously do any other season, or a doormat for everyday, some did and they turned out adorable!!
I set up a station for all the girls with the paint, paint brushes, their mat, a water cup to wash their brushes, and a little paper plate for them to put their paint on. Under each station I had some brown craft paper, and found a really cute Halloween themed paper table cloth from Homegoods that I could throw away after just incase the paint got on the table.
I wanted to make the food super simple so here was the menu & how to make each thing-
Ham & Cheese Sliders
- You can never go wrong with these in my opinion!! I just use Sweet Hawaiian Rolls, Honey Cured Ham, Swiss Cheese, and I spread a little mayo on each roll. I top the rolls with butter and a dash of honey and back on 350 for about 15-20 minutes.
Cocktail Crockpot Meatballs
- SO EASY!! Only 3 ingredients- frozen meatballs, 18oz grape jelly, and 18oz honey bbq sauce. Put all the ingredients in the crockpot on low for about 4 hours, then switch the heat to warm while you wait on your guests to arrive and leave on low to keep them warm during your party!
Fruit Tray & Fruit Dip
- I like to make my own fruit tray instead of buying one, I feel that it is more fresh this way! I just cut up some strawberries, apples, and threw some grapes on there too! I used Strawberry Cream Cheese Marzetti Fruit Dip with it and it was so yummy!
Chuy’s Creamy Jalapeno Dip
I had no idea you could go and purchase Chum’s amazing “white sauce” and chips!!!! Well you can, and you can get a HUGE thing of it for only $11!!! And they give you a huge bag of chips! So easy and tastes amazing!
Heath Bar Cake
- I used a German Chocolate Cake Mix and once it was baked I poked holes all throughout the top of the cake, and poured Sweetened Condensed Milk into each hole, then drizzled caramel on top, topped the entire cake with Cool Whip, and then topped with Heath Bar bits. So easy and so good!!!! Once I made the cake I stored in the fridge to let it sit until my guests arrived.
Pumpkin Fluff
- One can of pumpkin, whipped cream cheese, a tub of cool whip, and a box of vanilla instant pudding mix. Mix all together and that’s it!! I served with Ginger Snaps and Graham Crackers.
I also served an “Autumn Harvest Mocktail” that was just half Ginger Ale, half Apple Cider, some apples, oranges, some cinnamon sticks, and a dash of pumpkin spice! For these I set out glasses with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick in them!
We had the best time!!! Everyone’s mats turned out super cute and it was the perfect fall get together for the girls! I can’t wait to plan something fun for Christmas!
Below are some other Girls Night in ideas that I also thought were cute for fall or Christmas!
